Client Onboarding Checklist
Turn a signed engagement into a prepared project before active delivery begins.
What you receive
A 7-page PDF checklist covering client confirmation and handoff, contract and payment, client information, files and access, communication and approvals, scope and responsibilities, kickoff, internal setup, and a final pre-launch check. It includes spaces for project details, notes, owners, dates, and status.
Example from the checklist
The access check distinguishes Verified, Partially Verified, and Missing. It asks you to test access rather than assume that receiving an invitation means the permissions work. The communication section records the primary channel, update cadence, approver, and expected approval window.
How to use it
1. Create a checklist copy for the engagement and enter the project details.
2. Review each applicable item with the responsible provider and client contacts. Record gaps and assign follow-up.
3. Complete the final pre-launch review before starting dependent work. Print the PDF or use your preferred PDF annotation tools.
Who it helps and where it stops
For freelancers, consultants, agencies, and small client-service teams. Adapt it to the agreed engagement. Checking a box does not replace a signed agreement, confirmed payment, tested access, or the actual approval.
